Summer Day Camp at The Granger Homestead & Carriage Museum
2017 Summer Camp
July 17-21
Tour the Granger Homestead, built in 1816. Explore the hidden areas of the mansion not on the public tour, including the attic, the kitchen, and servants’ quarters in the basement. Learn about the four generations of the Granger family who lived in the house, as well as the young girls who attended the Granger Place School here from 1876-1905.
Bake in the Homestead’s kitchen, and enjoy a formal tea party in the Victorian Parlor.
Learn to make Granger-era crafts. Make an autograph book like Antoinette Granger or try your hand at several other period crafts, including candle dipping, making a straw hat, needlework and more!
Have fun making (and eating!) home-made ice cream for a special treat. Play old-fashioned games on the lawn, including Graces and croquet.
Tour the Carriage Museum to catch a glimpse of life during the horse-drawn era, making new discoveries with a scavenger hunt in the barns.
