According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the U.S solar market is set to grow a staggering 119% in 2016. Investing in solar has never been more appealing to business owners and Haley Rotter from Rochester Solar Technologies, the Renewable Energy Division at O’Connell Electric, will explain why solar is such a great opportunity and how you can take advantage of the financial incentives out there to offset the capital costs of this investment.
NYSERDA (the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) and Governor Cuomo’s “NY-SUN Initiative” have announced a $1 Billion commitment between 2014-2023 to encourage the installation of solar energy systems that utilize this free, renewable energy source. With commercial projects paying back in 5 years or less, the investment in solar is a great way to ensure predicable operating costs and savings for years to come. Investing in solar is also a corporate responsibility and provides a marketing opportunity for solar customers. The benefits are numerous.
