Ghost of Paul Revere is a Portland, Maine-based group whose inspiration includes Radiohead, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd, but whose instruments are rooted in traditional bluegrass style music. The result is a sound the band describes as “holler folk,” not because it involves a lot of hollering, per se, but because it invokes the rich communal tradition of field hollers, with their call-and-response melodies, sing-along hooks, and densely layered harmonies. That sense of musical camaraderie is essential to everything The Ghost of Paul Revere does.
The Dawn Timbers is a high energy string band with a mixture of emotion and fury. The band includes Eric Horton on banjo, Danny Mills on rhythm guitar/vocals, Ricky Smith on mandolin/vocals, Tim Braley on bass/vocals, and Brian Elam on lead guitar/vocals.
