Chamber University: Substance Misuse & Employability Presentation - Revisited
As the drug epidemic continues to hit the news media, the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition has designed a Chamber University presentation to help employers understand the impact of substance misuse & abuse on the workplace. Topics will include:
- Signs and symptoms of drug use by Deputy Skyler Miller, Ontario County Sheriff's Office
- Responding to an Opioid Overdose/Narcan Training by Christy Richards, Ontario County Public Health
- Keys to Prevention & Help for Employees by Petrea Rae, Coalition Coordinator
Time will be allocated for questions and answers. Resources will be available.

LOCATION: Wood Library
COST: $20 for members, $50 non-members (non-members must pay at time of registration). Includes class and boxed lunch.

Skyler Miller is a Deputy Sheriff at the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Miller has worked for the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office since April 2016 and has previous law enforcement experience working as a Police Officer for the City of Geneva Police Department from February 2014 to April 2016. Miller has an A.A.S. Degree in Information Technology from Finger Lakes Community College and continued his education at Rochester Institute of Technology in Information Security and Forensics. Miller completed the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy in 2014. He completed the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) at Herkimer Community College in February 2016. Deputy Miller continued on to complete the Drug Evaluation and Classification program and become a Certified Drug Recognition Expert in March 2017. Deputy Miller has extensive training and experience in investigating Drivers suspected of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated or impaired by drugs. Deputy Miller has also become a certified Crime Scene and Evidence Specialist at the Ontario County Safety Training Facility in March 2018. As of January 1, 2018, Deputy Miller has moved in to the position of the Ontario County STOP-DWI Officer.
