Business Member Marketing Opportunities:

Advertising:

Business members have the opportunity to market their operation through the Chamber, by taking advantage of the following:

  • Ads and insert advertising in The Chamber Connection Newsletter (a monthly publication with a distribution of 1,200)
  • Advertising in the Canandaigua Area Community Guide & Business Directory, (an annual publication with a distribution of 4,000.
  • Advertising in the Canandaigua Visitors Guide & Map, (an annual publication with distribution of 50,000).
  • Advertising in the Canandaigua Chamber Annual Year in Review (an annual publication with distribution to more than 15,000 homes in the area).

Advertising rates for these publications vary, as do their publication dates. Contact the Chamber for more information if you are interested in advertising.

Direct Mail

Business members may purchase a roster of current Chamber business members, either on disc, in label format, or a list on paper to use to send out direct mail pieces. The rates for these are available by contacting the Chamber.

Brochure Display

The Canandaigua Chamber Visitors Center provides opportunities for members to display their brochures and/or business cards, at no cost to the member. More than 2000 people come into the Visitors Center each year, seeking information about things to do, places to eat or sleep, as well as information about services and products in the area. As a Chamber member, you are encouraged to bring copies of your brochures and business cards into the Chamber to display in the Visitors Center.

Website

As a Chamber member, your business is automatically listed on our website, with a link to yours if you have one. Businesses are listed by category, and members provide all information, including business description, for their listing. In 2004, our website received close to 90,000 unique visitors!

Canandaigua Community Guide & Business Directory

All Chamber business members in good standing are automatically listed, both by category as well as alphabetically, in the Canandaigua Community Guide and Business Directory, an annual publication with a distribution of more than 4,000.

Chamber Annual Year in Review

All Chamber members in good standing are listed by year, in the Chamber Annual Year in Review, produced each January and distributed to more than 15,000 homes through out the Canandaigua area.

Referrals

  • The Chamber receives thousands of calls each year from people seeking information about products, services and visitor information.
  • When the caller requests a specific type of business or service, the Chamber provides them with a list of all Chamber members who fall into that type of business or service.
  • The Chamber does not recommend one business over another.

Main Street Window Display

  • Chamber members can sign up for free use of one of the Chambers windows to put up a display about their business.
  • You provide the display, Main Street provides the audience!

New Member Opportunities

  • All new members are listed in the Chamber Connection Newsletter (exposing your business to 1,200 people).
  • New member orientations are held throughout the year, in order to help new members acclimate to the Chamber.
  • The Chamber offers free “ribbon cutting” photo opportunities for new businesses (or for existing businesses that have moved to a new location).
  • Ribbon cutting photos and write-up are placed in the Chamber Connection Newsletter and are sent to various media publications in the area.

Networking

The Chamber holds a number of events and programs throughout the year, where business members have the opportunity to meet and network with other businesses, including:

  • Business After Hours Mixers
  • Annual Dinner & Business and Citizen of the Year Awards Presentations
  • Annual Ralph Sheridan Golf Classic
  • ATHENA Awards Dinner
  • Business expositions, leads group, and more.
